Chabad Inspiration Ten Commandments. Faith vs Fact

Hi

Wishing you Gut Shabbos Candle Lighting today:  4:47pm

This Monday , 22 Shvat, is the Yortseit-Hillula of the Rebbe's wife, Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson of blessed memory

The following is dedicated to honor the Rebbetzin's memory

A most powerful transformational moment in history was the  giving of the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai. We read it in this week's Torah portion. G-d revealed himself at Sinai to millions of Jews who personally witnessed the event

(Judaism is the only religion which is based on a factual divine public revelation event with millions of witnesses)

To this very day, the majority of the world population,  identifies and is influenced by the Ten Commandments historic event. Perhaps one may ask: it would seem that  at this once in history occasion, G-d would choose to deliver a  speech which would wow the audience with his infinite wisdom

Yet, the Ten Commandments seem simple and logical. Some are so basic that even a child can easily agree with the logic. Don't murder,  is a self understood law. So are many of the Ten Commandments

Seemingly, for such basics,  there would be no need for a major historic speech with thunder and lightning and for G-d to make a big to-do public event with his revelation

So why the simplicity?

The Rebbe explains:

Life is a gift from the creator. The value of every life is infinite. Your life has real purpose. We were chosen for a mission

70 years ago, the world's most academically advanced nation,  murdered six million Jews

Nazi Germany, may their name be erased. In Mein Kampf, Hitler rationalizes and justifies the  holocaust. The brutal  murder of innocent Jews.  Men women and children

Nazi Gas chambers and crematoriums are shockingly acceptable in their sick mind. That can  happen when the human mind is the boss. When the human mind is deciding the purpose and value of life

But as Jews , we believe that G-d commanded: Don't Murder! It's a divine commandment. It's not a suggestion. Not a human invention. We believe life is precious

Torah says:  Each of us has a special role. No life is extra. No life is random. We each  have  a divine soul. A Neshomoh. Each one of us is a beloved child of our father in heaven

The Ten Commandments teach us: G-d gives life. G-d decides

You are G-d's child , so we strive to live accordingly. Celebrate your existence as
G-d's creation. Maximizing the opportunities of performing goodness and kindness. Torah and Mitzvot

The Rebbetzin selflessly devoted her life to the Jewish people. To lovingly care and help Am Yisroel

Our mother the queen

May her memory be a blessing. May we each merit to maximize life.  Celebrating Yiddishkeit. Proud Jews. Educating and inspiring the young generation

In her honor let us do something special this Monday

Our good deeds live eternally  and hasten the biblical promise of a world of peace. May we merit the happy news of Moshiach Now !
