Chabad Inspiration
Power of Words
Hi
Wishing you Gut Shabbos
Candle Lighting NY Metro 7:05pm
King Solomon gives us wisdom for life. Teaching the power of the tongue
Proverbs 16:1 “A gentle reply turns away wrath, but a distressing word stirs up anger”
Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the hand of the tongue“
A kind good word can inspire life. A harsh word can destroy lives
If a Jew spoke evil gossip of another, the Torah describes the “Leprosy” and lesions which would appear on the skin. Home etc.
3 inspiring teachings of the Rebbe:
1) Only a Kohen, who is by nature a kind person was licensed to diagnose the “Leprosy”. Teaching us that before you judge someone else’s deficiencies, please make sure it is rooted in love and kindness. We have no right to judge another with negative bias , hate and anger
2) Passover and the Jewish calandar go according to the moon. The secular calendar follows the sun. The moon waxes and wanes. From a tiny sliver to a bright full moon. The Jew takes inspiration from the moon. Even when our existence is challenged, even when we are hurting and seem small, we trust in our father in heaven that we will overcome, resiliently and we shall shine forever brightly. Am Yisroel Chai
3) Four sons participate in the Passover Seder celebration. Today we have the “fifth son” who does not even show up. Apathetic. But we are one Jewish family. It behooves us to make sure in advance that every Jew is invited to a Kosher Passover Seder. No child left behind. Forgotten. To be free is to care and love every Jew without the shackles of past emotional baggage
