Courage Forgiveness & Crowns
The famous Chabad mentor Rabbi Mendel Futerfas was imprisoned by the Russian communist and exiled to Siberia. Reb Mendel’s heroic devotion to Jewish life is legendary.
Reb Mendel would say in Yiddish, loosely translated:
“When one looses Gelt- Money, one lost nothing. Money comes and money goes. When one looses Gezunt-Health one lost half. But when one looses Mut-Resolve, optimistic mood, one lost everything”.
The High Holidays is seen by some as dispiriting and gloomy. In Chabad philosophy it is a happy time. A time of optimism. An opportunity for a new beginning. The dawn of a new horizon. G-d is happy to forgive and delete our past mistakes. We happily embrace our father in heaven. This Teshuva- Reunion is a heartwarming celebration. Like the deepest joy when a lost child returns home.
Moshiach will be a global reunion. Let's prepare.
3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:
1) The twelve days before Rosh Hashanah correspond to the twelve months of the year. In one day we can rectify an entire month. Because time is a creation, the creator of time can fill in your lost time. You can always retroactively earn your lost past time. Maximize your time now and G-d will perform miracles for you.
2) The Shofar is a pure simple sound. It reminds of the pure love of our Heavenly Father to his children and the pure love of children to their father. When we appreciate the yearning and love our Heavenly Father has for each of us, his children, it is easy to forgive each other. We are one family. Brothers and sisters. Open your heart and forgive and make peace. Connect. Reunite. You will feel good. It will bring you happiness.
3) You have the power to crown the creator. G-d chooses to need your decision. You are part of the purpose of creation. When you crown the creator as your king, when you do a Mitzvah, a commandment, an act of goodness and kindness, you are fulfilling the desire of the creator. This deep desire is why the entire world was created. Now this powerful key is in your hands. Celebrate your infinite value.
