Hi
Wishing you Gut Shabbos.
January 24 NY Metro Candle Lighting 4:42pm
Mother of Royalty. The Rebbe’s mother Rebbetzin Chana Schneerson was born on 28 Tevet 1880-5640 in the city of Nikolayev Ukraine to her illustrious parents Rabbi Meir Shlomo Haleivi Yanovsky and Rebbetzin Rochel. Her father was the city’s Chief Rabbi. Shabbat 28 Tevet - January 25 2020 we Honor her 140th birthday 1880-2020.
In 1900 the Rebbetzin Chana married Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson. The Rebbe was born 11 Nissan 1902 in Nikolayev. Approximately 1909 her husband was appointed Chief Rabbi of the large Jewish community in Dnepropetrovsk Ukraine. As the wife of the Chief Rabbi Rebbetzin Chana helped many thousands of Jewish refugees who arrived to their city and were in desperate need of food and shelter
Rebbetzin Chana devoted much attention to the young generation. The Rebbe dedicated the campaigns of Kosher observance Family Purity and Shabbat Candle Lighting to his mother’s name. We all owe a debt of gratitude to the mother who gave us and the world the gift of The Rebbe.
Rebbetzin Chana was a loyal pillar of support to her illustrious husband who selflessly served the community for 30 years risking his life. His love and dedication to Judaism was the reason he was arrested by the communists in 1939 and exiled to Kazakhstan where he suffered in the remote primitive Asian village of Chili. Rebbetzin Chana voluntarily joined him there. He passed away 20 of Av 1944 in the city of Alma Ata and his holy Ohel is there.
Together let us honor our Mother of Royalty who gave us the Rebbe. With deeds of goodness and kindness Torah study and by performing a Mitzvah in her honor. You have the power and opportunity to give her a gift. May you be blessed with joy health and blessings which will fulfill your heart's desires for the good.
3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:
1) Many prayer rituals are based on the biblical story of Chana. Her silent whispers of prayer and the outpouring of her heart in prayer resulted in the miraculous birth of her son Samuel The Prophet. This inspires us to know that we have the power and ability to create a “New Will” in heaven which can change everything and create new channels of blessings for you to achieve your heart’s desires. Never give up by saying it’s impossible. You have the key to heaven.
2) A woman came to see the Rebbe for advice and blessings. She was suffering because she was having a conflict with her parent. The Rebbe said to her: Do you know how much I would give so I can see and help my mother even just one more time? And you have this blessing in your hands and you are wasting this G-d given blessing? These moving words transformed the daughter who was inspired to reconcile and appreciate her parent. This changed her life.
3) The story of Samuel’s mother Chana is recited on Rosh Hashanah. Although the day’s prayers are primarily dedicated to crowning and accepting G-d as our creator we still recite the private story of Chana’s heartfelt prayer for a child who she promised she will dedicate to G-d. This inspires us to understand that our personal and physical needs when used correctly are part of glorifying the name of G-d. The purpose of creation Moshiach is intertwined with your happiness and your physical and personal needs. Pray.
G-d our compassionate loving father is waiting for you. You are G-d's beloved child.
