Resilience Wings & Happiness
Hi
Wishing you a Gut Shabbos
Candle Lighting February 28 - Adar 3 NY Metro 5:24pm
It has been said: “He who has a why to live can bear almost any how”. “Man requires meaning”. A cornerstone of Chabad philosophy is the principle of “Divine Providence” that the creator actively monitors and orchestrates every detail in our life. Your life is always important and meaningful.
Yiddish has the word “Bashert”. “It’s meant to be”. Certainly we must try to always do our best but we simultaneously know that the final results are in the hands of heaven and everything has a reason.
Perhaps part of the secret of Jewish survival and resilience is that Judaism believes and cherishes life and meaning. To see every moment of life as an opportunity to do good. Life is a precious gift which we should celebrate and enjoy. We can not allow the pain of past mistakes and the sadness of misfortune to destroy the future.
Because the creator is infinite and the wisdom and intelligence of the creator is infinite it logically follows that we can not grasp it with our limited human mind and brain. Just like it is impossible to place all the waters of the oceans into a finite limited cup.
You were born for a beautiful happy reason. Your soul came down into this world in your mother’s womb to accomplish it’s important life tasks. Your birth is by meticulous Divine design. You are a VIP. Celebrate your life and your opportunities. We never give up. Optimism. We dust off and we triumphantly move on to maximize life’s new opportunities.
If one person can cause a contagious dangerous virus to spread then certainly one person can cause a good deed and a good idea to spread and help humanity.
Remember that by G-d’s design the world needs your personal accomplishments. Your one good deed can do it. You can bring Moshiach. A gift to the entire world!
3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:
1) We are each a holy temple because the creator wants to live within you. We are endowed with all the necessary qualities to transform ourselves into a royal home for G-d. Every characteristic of your personality is meant to be transformed into a part of your majestic sanctuary.
The transformation of our negative traits are of the greatest pleasures for the creator when we utilize it for the good. See the good within you. Even the negative is a cause for celebration. Be stubborn and persist and you will be victorious.
2) A bird flies with it’s wings. Without wings the bird remains on the ground. We are like a bird since we want our good deeds and our Torah study and prayers to rise and “fly” to heaven.
Our wings are our love and awe of the creator. When we study Chabad Chassidic teachings and we intellectually understand as much as we can about the creator then our mind gives birth to emotions of the heart which serve as our wings which lift our good deeds to heaven.
3) During the current Hebrew month of Adar it is a time to increase happiness. It is the month of Purim which celebrates our survival and triumph over the wicked Haman in the times of Queen Esther. It is a month especially conducive to blessings and happiness and has the power to overturn negativity into positive.
Happiness comes from a state of inner joy. Not frivolous meaningless drunkenness. Meaningful joy is when we enable the beauty of goodness kindness and holiness to flow in our life. When we celebrate our relationship with our Father in Heaven with happiness we are empowered to successfully break thru all barriers. Celebrate and be happy.
