Purim You & Happiness
A Lchayim with G-d!
Happy smiling faces are synonymous with Purim. For thousands of years Jews in every part of the world celebrate Purim. Jewish triumph and victory over our persecutors and oppressors.
Purim in a sense is a story of the power of the individual. The major scenes in the story of Purim which happened in Persia in the 4th century BCE revolve around one individual. One King. One Haman. One Esther. One Mordechai. One people.
Purim we read the Megillah. The Mishna states “One who reads the Megillah backwards does not fulfill the Mitzvah”. The Rebbe frequently quotes the Baal Shem Tov’s interpretation: One who reads the Megillah story of Purim “backwards” in time thinking this is an “old story” and not current did not fulfill the commandment.
There are close to 8 billion people living on planet earth! So just person may seem mathematically insignificant. Purim teaches us never to ignore or underestimate the power of one individual. Because of just one evil person Haman all the Jews were in existential danger.
G-d performed the miracle thru one person -our hero Esther- and we were saved.
We are all here today thanks to: One Queen Esther! One person! One hero!
In today’s challenging times let us rise to the occasion. If one carrier can infect many then certainly one good person can help many. Like our forefathers did for thousands of years. Let’s celebrate the true power and spirit of Jewish survival Jewish pride and Jewish continuity. The eternal resilience of the Jew with triumph joy and festivity.
Purim is a time to rejoice and to allow your true beautiful inner self to surface and shine brightly. G-d sees and loves the beauty within you. You can bring Moshiach health peace and happiness to the world.
Have a Lchayim with G-d!
Celebrate you! and your G-d given unlimited potential and beauty. You are holy. You are a part of G-d. Purim G-d reveals his personal love for you. Purim you are empowered. The Talmud teaches: On Purim who ever puts out their hand and asks we give them! Ask G-d to grant you your request. This is certainly something to truly make you happy and rejoice.
3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:
1) The single most Identifying characteristic which the Megillah uses to describe Mordechai Hayehudi -Mordechai The Jew- Is that he was “Ish Yemini” from the tribe of Benjamin. But “Yemini” in Hebrew also means right. Mordechai saw only the good in every Jew and looked at every Jew with a ”right” eye. Let’s see each other like Mordechai does.
2) The Megillah tells us that Haman became angry at the Jews because Mordechai did not kneel and did not bow to Haman. As Jews we must be proud of who we are. Never bow or compromise Jewish pride. A Jew walks with our head held high. Not fearing any evil power because we know that our loving Father in Heaven is protecting us and always watching over us.
3) Purim means a lottery. A decision based on logic can be changed if a new logical reason is presented. Decisions made by a lottery transcend logic and are everlasting. The bond and love G-d has for the Jewish people is like a “lottery” which transcends logic.
“Teshuva” Is returning to G-d. It is so powerful that the person’s past sins are transformed into positive credits. Because “Teshuva” reaches the essence of G-d. Transcending even holy logic and reason. On Yom Kippur we must fast to reach this high level. However on Purim it is is an automatic gift to every Jew.
Therefore we say Lchayim to the point where we transcend logic and reason. We celebrate our eternal mutual love and unity with G-d with unlimited happiness.
