Happiness Passover & Freedom
Hi
Wishing you Gut Shabbos
Candle Lighting April 3 - 9 Nissan NY Metro 7:03pm
Happiness is one of the most desired products. Gourmet delicious foods and beautiful fashion clothing can be purchased. But one can not walk into a store and “purchase happiness”.
Chabad philosophy reveals the secret key to lasting happiness: A happy soul living in harmony with the body. The human being has a body and a soul. The body is physical but the soul is spiritual and G-dly. Therefore no bodily pleasure can produce meaningful happiness.
We begin the Passover Seder with the Kiddush prayer over a cup of wine as we say:
“You have given us with love, holidays to be happy”. Kiddush is to sanctify time and space. We harmonize the physical with holiness. We eat a delicious festive Passover meal, infused with holiness, meaning and happiness.
Sometimes our soul feels “Quarantined” and in a “Lockdown” mode in the body. Freedom is to set our soul free. To be a healthy body with our soul connected to G-d.
Our deepest desire is to live a life of meaning. For our soul to be unleashed and to connect to our loving Father in Heaven. Uniting heaven and earth.
When we say Judaism’s holiest prayer of Shma Yisroel, we are gifting our soul the freedom to connect to her loving Father in Heaven. This is why we include the story of the exodus of Egypt at the end of the prayer of Shma.
Because the Shma and the exodus of Egypt are both the same idea. They both are about our true freedom. The freedom of our soul to unite with G-d. Bringing heaven down to earth.
May you be blessed with true happiness in good health and happiness. Maximizing your potential by harmonizing body and soul. Your potential is unlimited. Pass-Over any obstacles and be blessed to enjoy and celebrate the gift of life.
3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:
The Rebbe’s birthday is 11 of Nissan. Four days before Passover. Corresponding to March 5 2020.
1) At the Passover Seder we describe the four sons. The wicked son is mentioned immediately after the wise son. Because the “wicked” son passionately protests against tradition. He is not apathetic or indifferent. He cares. Therefore he deserves to be placed next to the wise son, so he can receive the answers from the wise son and be inspired to participate in the Jewish family.
2) The Egyptians wanted to force Jewish children to assimilate. To “drown” them in pagan Egyptian culture. The story of the exodus is timeless. We must never abandon a Jewish child to assimilation. A Torah Jewish education is the key to strengthen Jewish continuity.
3) The Haggadah describes four sons. To their credit all four participate. Today we have the challenge of the 5th son who doesn’t even care to participate at the family Seder table. We must do everything to guarantee that the 5th son participates at the Passover Seder. It is the responsibility of every Jew to make sure that no Jewish child is left behind.
