Enthusiasm Speed & Restaurants

Hi

Wishing you Gut Shabbos

Candle Lighting NY Metro May 22 - 28 Iyar 7:52pm

28 Iyar marks 53 years since the stunning and miraculous liberation of Jerusalem in 1967. Our beloved holy city, to which Jews throughout history have yearned to walk it's streets, to open their heart in prayer and to touch the holy stones of the Western Wall.

In 1967 the Israeli soldiers were outnumbered and outgunned by the enemies. But the Jewish soldier was filled with enthusiasm. Filled with Jewish pride. Heaven blessed the IDF soldiers with a miraculous victory.

The classic book of Chabad, Tanya,  which was authored by Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, explains that it is the enthusiasm and speed which bring victory. But if a fighter is strong and slow, filled with sadness and laziness then he will lose.

As we prepare to celebrate 3332 years since the giving of the Ten Commandments and  receiving the Torah at Mount Sinai, let us refresh and recharge our enthusiasm. To maximise our gift of life with the the joy and celebration of Torah.

The future is in our hands. Let us inspire and encourage the young generation to taste the sweetness of Jewish heritage and tradition. Because every Jewish child deserves the priceless gift of our Holy Torah.

3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:

1) The Torah was given on the lowest mountain, Mount Sinai. Not a valley and not a tall mountain. This teaches us that we must be humble, like a low mountain, yet simultaneously we must be proud like a mountain, not like a valley. Not to allow the world to trample on our love of Torah.  We Carry the banner of Torah Judaism with pride.

2) At Mount Sinai our “Guarantors“ were our children. We must make sure that no Jewish child is deprived from a Torah Jewish education. Youth is not measured by “age” but by “spirit“.  Let us ensure that every one of G-d’s children is connected to our loving Father in Heaven.

3) People enjoy ready-to-eat food. We must teach Torah in a ready-to-enjoy format. To make sure that the joy, love and happiness of Torah, permeates everything. You can prevent assimilation by enduring a proper Torah Jewish education. The future is in your hands. Your one good deed can bring Moshiach.
