Happy Torah Anniversary
Hi
Wishing you Gut Yom Tov!
A Happy Shavuot!
For Holiday and Shabbos candle lighting times please visit: Chabad.org
Starting this evening, the upcoming 48 hours we will celebrate the anniversary of 3332 years of the giving of the Torah and the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai.
The Talmud says that before giving the Torah G-d asked for guarantors. After our patriarchs and prophets as guarantors were not accepted, G-d agreed to the offer of “Our children will be our guarantors”.
The Rebbe says: We all have a “child” within us. As the Torah says “My people Israel are my child and I love them”.
When we left Egypt we were spiritually unclean. Yet only 50 days later, G-d lovingly gave us His most precious gift, the Torah. Our spiritual dirt aroused a deeper love for us from our Father in Heaven.
Now too, although we may not be perfect, perhaps even a bit unclean, yet the moment we commit our self to saying “We shall do and we shall later understand” then we are immediately embraced and loved by G-d with even a greater love then before.
Ruth merited to be the great-grandmother of king David. Moshiach is a descendent of king David. Ruth selflessly declared: “Your G-d is my G-d, your people are my people”.
Let us lovingly and happily declare: “We will do and then we will hear”. We will cherish and celebrate the giving of the Torah to each of us again, anew, this Holiday of Shavuot. Our loving Father in Heaven is waiting to bless you for your happy loving response.
The Rebbe requests that all of us, even babies, hear the reading of the Ten Commandments on this Holiday of Shavuot.
You have the power to illuminate the world with the beautiful light of Torah, hastening the arrival of Moshiach Now. A world of peace, harmony. A world filled with Divine wisdom and knowledge.
Each year the Torah is given anew. With new empowering blessings for you. May you be blessed to receive the Torah this year with joy and with internalisation. This will bring you blessings for a happy successful life, physically and spiritually.
Remember: G-d loves you like His only child!
3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:
1) The reason why G-d offered the Torah to all the nations before the Jewish people, is to show that even on the level where the Jew looks similar to the nations of the world, nevertheless, G-d chooses the Jewish people as His chosen people. You are special and unconditionally loved by our Father in Heaven.
2) You should never feel sad even if in a low spiritual state. All you have to do is say what the Jewish people said at Mount Sinai: “We will do and only then will we hear the reason” and G-d will reveal His essence to you with the deepest love and give you the strength to overcome all challenges and obstacles. You will personally connect to the essence of G-d who took us out of Egypt.
3) The purpose of the Torah is to help the Jewish people transform the world to be a “home” for G-d. You have the power to make it a reality. Moshiach is on his way. It is only on our part to something additional in the realm of goodness and kindness.
