Yom Kippur, Souls & Pleasure
Hi
Wishing you a Gut Shabbos. Shabbat Shalom
Candle Lighting Friday September 25 - 7 Tishrei NY Metro 6:26pm
You Are New On Yom Kippur
Imagine you can start life again. A new start. No negative past. No stains on your soul. No sins. Reversing the clock. A new beginning.
Yom Kippur is exactly that. Chabad philosophy explains that Yom Kippur is a day when G-d lovingly raises us to a level where sin does not exists.
Our relationship with G-d is elevated and we are in total unity with our loving Father in Heaven. Our mistakes are automatically wiped clean.
Yes, of course we enumerate our past mistakes. We pray and bang our chest. We own up to our mistakes. But that’s not what G-d is ultimately looking for. G-d wants to celebrate our coming back home. To return to your essence.
Your essence is your soul. Your soul is one with G-d. Your soul is pure, precious and holy. The love that the creator has for you is unconditional, unlimited and eternal.
Sin can only damage a relationship which is between two separate entities. However a parent and a child are one entity at their core. Mistakes and wrongdoing don’t change the core level connection.
Like a king who has a child who ran away from the palace. The king yearns to reunite with his beloved child. He celebrates his child returning home. So too does our Father in Heaven yearn for our return. He happily celebrates His reunification with the Jewish people on Yom Kippur.
It is not the judgment or punishment that G-d is interested in. On the contrary. He wants the pleasure of His children returning to Him. To grant His children a good life filled with abundance of blessings.
The Pandemic unfortunately effected the entire world. Some Synagogues are closed for the first time this Yom Kippur. Some have limited participants.
You have the power to choose to transform this Yom Kippur into a most powerful loving day of unity with G-d. A life changing experience. You can launch your new positive start in life.
May you celebrate this Yom Kippur with excitement and joy. Because you know that you are being unconditionally loved and embraced by the Creator. We can transform our debt into a positive gain.
Wishing you to be sealed in the book of life for a good new year filled with happiness, abundance and good health. A year of revealed wonders and miracles. A year of global peace with our additional good deeds ushering in the era of Moshiach.
3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:
1) The Hillula Yortzeit of the Rebbe’s mother Rebbetzin Chana Schneerson is on the 6th day of Tishrei:
A soul lives forever. A soul never dies. It is not given to destruction. The soul feels all the good things that their children and offspring continue to do in the physical world. Every Mitzvah performed in honor of the soul, gives the soul happiness, res and pleasure.
2) The primary focus of Teshuva - Returning on Yom Kippur is to be connected to the essence of G-d.
3) Every Jew is a precious treasure to G-d. A king loves his treasures even if they are hidden and he does not use them. The very fact that they exist, makes the king happy.
G-d has pleasure from the very existence of a Jew. Even before any good deeds are performed. Your existence is G-d’s treasure.
