The Key To Happiness

3300 years ago the Jewish people traveled the Sinai dessert.

They were miraculously protected from all directions by the clouds of glory. We commemorate this miracle by eating in a Sukkah of four walls covered with branches.

Chabad philosophy inspires us to also see the deeper meaning.

When we give someone a  hug, we are embracing the person in their totality. Unconditionally. We are not hugging a particular aspect of the person. We are expressing unconditional love.

On Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur we are judged. Every detail of our actions is analyzed. Therefore G-d commands us to immediately after Yom Kippur celebrate Sukkot so He can express His unconditional love for you via the Sukkah.

In Jewish law a Sukkah requires a minimum of three walls. The third wall can be a partial wall. The great Kabbalist The Arizal explains that this is because a hug requires the three parts of the arm. The upper, the middle and the hand. The Sukkah is

G-d giving you a hug.

Every moment we are in the Sukkah we are receiving an unconditional hug of Divine love.

On Sukkot we unite the four kinds. The Lulav which is the branch of a palm tree. The myrtle. The willow. The Etrog. These four kinds represents all types of Jews.

When we live with unconditional love for our fellow brothers and sisters, In unity, then we are blessed to live happily.

Sukkot teaches us that Jewish unity and Ahavat Yisroel are the key to Jewish happiness.

Quality of life is linked to happiness. The secret to happiness is your unity with

G-d and your people. With unconditional love.

May you be blessed to celebrate a happy Sukkot. Uniting yourself with every fellow Jew. This will bring you happiness for the entire upcoming year.

The exile of the Jewish people is compared to a fallen Sukkah. May we merit to see the rebuilding of the national eternal Jewish Sukkah.

Your sincere hug of unconditional love can bring Moshiach Now!

3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:

1) All year wine was poured on the alter in the Holy Temple. During Sukkot they poured water. Water is simple and pure. Wine has taste. Reason and logic are compared to taste, indeed the Hebrew word for reason is the same word as for taste: Ta’am. True mature love is unconditional which doesn’t depend on logic or reason. Celebrate the purity of Jewish love and unity.

2) On Sukkot we make a daily blessing on the Lulav and Etrog and we shake it and touch our heart with it. It is not sufficient to just speak of Jewish unity. We must ensure that the unity touches and enters our heart. Internalizing the love.

3) You have the power to transform yourself and your environment. Wherever you are you can build a Sukkah and share the joy and happiness of the holiday with your fellow Jewish brothers and sisters. The Sukkah has the power to bring unity. Invite someone in need to your Kosher Sukkah and G-d will protect you with His canopy of peace, health & happiness.
