In 1798 the founder of Chabad, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi was liberated and freed from Czarist Russian jail. The day of 19th of Kislev 1798 transformed the world forever. A day of new beginnings. Renewal.
In Hayom Yom, the Rebbe quotes 2 words which express the gift we receive on this day. On the New Year - Rosh Hashanah of Chassidus: ״אור וחיות נפשנו ניתן לנו״. “The light and vitality of our soul is given to us”.
“Light and vitality”. A beautifully decorated mansion cannot be seen and enjoyed in the dark. Light enables a person to see and enjoy the beauty.
The body of a living human being appears superficially similar to the body of a non living person. We need the vitality of life to animate the body. This keeps a person alive. A sad person lacks life and energy. A happy person is full of life and energy.
Taste Chabad Chassidus and it will give you the wisdom, understanding and knowledge, to “see” the beauty and to joyously “feel” the “vitality” which our loving Father in Heaven gifts to us and to the world.
The Alter Rebbe, Rabbi Schneur Zalman said:
"He who will rejoice in my joy -the liberation of 19 Kislev- will be taken out of narrowness into vast expanse".
"I sanctified 19 Kislev like Yom Kippur, whatever a Jew asks for will be granted".
May you be blessed to celebrate the Rosh Hashanah of Chassidus. Celebrate 19 of Kislev and it will bring you joy, inner meaning, happiness and the blessings you ask for!
Gut Yom Tov: May you be written and inscribed for a good year in the study of Chassidus and in the ways of Chassidus!
3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:
1) Chassidus draws down a new light from the innermost dimension of G-d’s Crown and even higher. In the “Modeh Ani” prayer we give thanks for a new day of life but it doesn’t mention any name of G-d, because you are empowered to communicate with G-d as He transcends any name.
2) When you recognize that your entire existence is only an expression of the infinite creator and that you represent Him, then you are empowered and you can accomplish the seemingly impossible.
3) Moshiach is on the way. He will reveal the essence of Chassidus. We prepare by bringing the wellsprings of Chassidus to every part of the world. When Moshiach comes, our physical world will be so refined that our physical eyes will see G-d within the physicality of the world. All of history and the entire world, benefit from your good efforts. We all need you!
