Hi
Wishing you Gut Shabbos. Shabbat Shalom.
24 Teves is the Hillula - Yortzeit of the founder of Chabad, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi.
The Alter Rebbe said that at the young age of five years old he already understood that every Jew has two souls. The G-dly soul and the Animalistic soul.
A while later he concluded the difference: The essence and personality of the G-dly soul is to seek the truth. Torah and Mitzvot and good character.
The essence and personality of the Animalistic soul is that it is a liar who only seeks bodily pleasure. It tries to convince a person to live a life of materialism and vanity.
Later the Alter Rebbe concluded that we each have a third soul. The Soul of Inelegance. This third soul helps us to intellectually distinguish between the truth of the G-dly soul and the lies of the Animalistic soul.
The purpose of life is to transform exile into redemption. To transform lies into truth. Darkness into light. When we study Chabad teachings we propel ourselves to a higher level of a life of truth and light.
May you be blessed to explore and discover your inner strengths and the powers of your Divine soul which has infinite ability.
Maximize your potential. You will be happy that you discovered your unlimited ability to live a life of goodness.
3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:
1) The Egyptian Exodus means shattering and then departure. To go away from Egypt. The Chassidic exodus means purification and correction, stepping out of worldly limitations and bounds while remaining in the world. While functioning within the world, we must transcend it’s limitations and perceive the truth.
2) Sighing by itself won't do a bit of good. A sigh is only a key to open the heart and eyes. Not to sit with folded arms, but to plan orderly work and activity, spreading Torah and the observance of Mitzvot. One person might do this through his writing, another with his oratory, another with his wealth.
3) Life is not about being better then everybody else. Your sincere efforts are appreciated by our loving Father in Heaven. It is a mistake to focus on being the best amongst your friends. You should focus on maximizing your own potential and be the best that you personally can be.
