Wings Warmth & Progress
Three times a day the golden wings of the Cherubs - Keruvim of the Holy Ark would miraculously rise on their own. Corresponding to the times of the 3 daily prayers.
The Alter Rebbe Rabbi Schneur Zalman explains in Torah Or that “wings” enable a bird to fly and to rise to great heights. Our love and fear of our loving Father in Heaven are our “wings” which enable us to reach new spiritual heights.
When we do a Mitzvah filled with enthusiasm and passion then our emotions serve as energy to propel our deeds, we soar to new spiritual heights.
King Solomon’s metaphors describe the love of the Jewish people and our Father in Heaven. The words “I will find you outside” refer to the Jew who does Buisness as a proud Jew in the “outside world”. Elevating the sparks of holiness trapped in our physical world.
This brings us blessings and success. It brings healing, peace and redemption to our world. Your deeds hasten the coming of Moshiach.
When a parent gives a child a kiss, it is because words can not express the love. Our good deeds bring redemption to the trapped sparks of holiness hidden in our world. This is compared to a kiss, because the pleasure that G-d has is greater then the expression of words.
When you do a Mitzvah you are creating a “soul to soul” connection. You are connecting to G-d with a kiss.
Enjoy your Mitzvah! G-d is waiting to kiss you!
3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:
1) Purim we celebrate the preciousness of every Jew. You are loved by G-d on a level of “Pur” which means “lottery”. There is no logic in a lottery. It transcends reason. You are always special and loved by our loving Father in Heaven.
2) A key to success: We must at least once a year have “a movement of our essence”. הזזה עצמית. This deep essence movement of progress is most effective when it is at the outset of our journey.
3) A Jew is always “warm”. Exuding love, happiness and enthusiasm. “Coldness” is an ailment and a threat to our spiritual health. We remember to erase the name of Amalek because when we left Egypt he wanted to make the Jew “cold”. Love your fellow Jew with warmth and G-d will reveal His love to you!
