Focus Love & Addictions

The Ten Commandments tell us: “Six days you shall work and perform all your labor and the Seventh day is Sabbath to G-d”.

The Alter Rebbe, Rabbi Schneur Zalman, explains in Torah Or Vayakhel, that this is also referring to a spiritual work. As the Zohar says “there is no work like the work of Love”.

The mind is powerful. The only way to achieve lasting love for G-d is by working the mind, with deep focus, knowledge  and thought. Appreciating the gift of life and all the blessings we receive from G-d.

Focused knowledge enables you to connect and develop a true love. As the prophet Amos 3:2 describes the love of our loving Father In Heaven for His Jewish nation: “ Only you do I know from all the families on earth”. Knowledge is recognition and feeling, a will and desired choosing to connect.

After the sacred prayer of Shma: Hear O Israel G-d is one, we immediately say “You shall love your G-d”. When we intellectually focus on the oneness and blessings of G-d, we automatically develop an appreciation and a love. A heartfelt connection.

G-d loves you. He desires to connect with you.  During the six days of the week, in the daily prayer of Shma Yisroel, focus on His love and oneness with you. Then when Shabbos comes and you receive an extra soul, you will taste and feel the love.

(The above sheds light on the loving connection between Moses and the Jewish people. A Chossid and the Rebbe. The Moses of our generation, who loves and blesses every Jew)

Your additional deeds of goodness and kindness hasten the imminent arrival of Moshiach. A world of peace and Divine knowledge. Then we will celebrate the eternal Shabbos.

You will enjoy G-d’s eternal and personal hug and love of you!

3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:

1) You were born to use the power of your soul to perfect the world. You have the power to bring blessings and happiness upon yourself. Heaven responds like a mirror. Project happiness and appreciation, and you will be blessed with a life of success and happiness.

2) A key to happiness: Truth is the middle path. An inclination to the right, to be overly stringent with yourself, finding faults or sins not in accord with the truth, or to the left, to be overly indulgent, covering one’s faults or being lenient in demands of our service to G-d out of self love - both these ways are false. Live with truth and you will be happy.

3) Passover happens every day of your life. You are always empowered to break free from the chains of enslavement and addictions. Don’t become caught up with negative thinking. Think positive thoughts and courageously rise above it all. Pass Over and you will be liberated and happy.
