Ox Optimism & Kosher
A famous European Yiddish song describes the delicious great feast which the Jewish people will enjoy when Moshiach will come. The Menu includes: The world’s largest fish -The Livyoson-, gourmet ox meat and guarded aged wine!
In Torah Or (Shemini) the Alter Rebbe Rabbi Schneur Zalman explains that there is deep meaning in this ox. The ox can be stubborn and difficult, but the ox has tremendous power. When you harness the strong energy of the ox for good use, then the ox accomplishes even more then others.
The purpose of creation is to grant us the opportunity to transform the negative into positive. We all have a soul duality including a rebellious streak like an “ox”. When we harness our personal “ox” for the positive and the good, we accomplish more. As the Torah says: “There is much produce in the power of the ox”.
Never look at yourself or another as negative or bad. Even our negative character flaws, “The Ox” within us, can become a most powerful force for accomplishing an abundance of good. You have the power to transform darkness into light. To smartly utilize seeming shortcomings for great accomplishments.
We must stubbornly insist on making the world a better place. Stubbornly focus on helping those in need. Bringing healing, peace and happiness to the world. Stubbornly focusing on doing all that we can to bring Moshiach Now!
On the 28th day of Nissan 1991, the Rebbe publicly told us what is our mission: “do all that you can” to bring Moshiach. To stubbornly insist and focus on healing and perfecting the world by bringing Moshiach!
You have tremendous power. Your personal challenges can be used and transformed into positive springboards to generate the energy to change the world.
Unleash all your energy and attention for positive good accomplishments. Your good deed can tip the global scale and bring Moshiach. A world of peace, happiness and harmony.
Next time you see a child or an adult that seems to behave like an “ox” inspire them to channel their energy for the positive and for the good. Encourage them by explaining the deeper meaning behind the festive menu when Moshiach comes. We will enjoy our gourmet “ox” meat with aged wine!
3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:
1) You are a gift to the world. Without you the world is incomplete. Discover the treasures that are hiding inside of you. Follow the directive of the Rebbe Maharash "Lechatchila Ariber": From the beginning take the high road. "Over" the challenges. When a person is in a psychological jail they are not free to live their life to it’s fullest. Liberate yourself from everything which is inhibiting you. Experience the joy of your personal spark of Moshiach. Your spark is nuclear. You can light up the darkness of the world.
2) Kosher food is not just a religious commandment. Kosher food has the power and energy to give you a healthy body and soul. A kind heart and a caring soul. Our Father In Heaven loves you and wants the best for you. Since He created you, It is logical that only He knows which nutrition is best for you. When you eat Kosher, even your physical body connects to G-d. You bring upon yourself blessings of health and happiness.
3) Chassidim asked the Alter Rebbe: "Which is greater: To love G‑d or or to love your fellow Jew ?" He replied: "Both, (commandments) love of G‑d and love of your fellow Jew are equally engraved in every Jew's soul. The Torah says: " I loved you, says G-d" (to the Jewish people). It follows that to love your fellow Jew is superior - because you love whom your beloved loves." Love your fellow Jew unconditionally and our loving Father in Heaven will show his love to you and bless you!
