Pride Joy & Celebration
Happy Birthday Torah 3333!
A joyous life is to genuinely feel happy and proud of who you are. This feeling comes from the depth of our being.
When G-d wanted to give the Torah to the Jewish people, He first offered it to all the nations of the world. The children of Esav asked: what does it say in the Torah? G-d responded: You shall not murder! The children of Esav said “we live by the sword”.
After all the nations refused the Torah, G-d offered the Torah to the Jewish people who immediately said: Na’aseh V’nishma! We will do and we will hear! We proudly accepted the marriage contract! The Jew and G-d became bride and groom. An eternal unbreakable love.
The Jewish people feel the deepest joy and pride that a human being can feel. Because we know that we have made the best decision. We became the eternal beautiful bride of G-d.
In our modern world today, as we look around the globe, too often we see a lack of values and ethics as articulated in the Ten Commandments. We realize that as Jews we are truly blessed! We are a light upon the nations! We cherish life! As Jews we honor and respect the dignity of humanity.
The world is G-d’s royal garden and palace. The Torah is the Divine blueprint for a happy life. The Jewish people are the the Royal Queen.
The Talmud says that Rabbi Yosey would rejoice and celebrate on the holiday of Shavuot and he would proclaim: “If not for this day (of receiving the Torah) I would be just another Yosey in the market place”!
You are lucky, blessed and fortunate to be part of -and to own- the most precious and beautiful gift in the world!
The Rebbe asks that we make sure that every Jew hears on the holiday of Shavuos the Torah reading of the Ten Commandments in Synagague. Especially young children including babies and infants. “Our children are our guarantors”!
The number 3333 happens only once in history. The number 3 symbolizes the unity and love of G-d, the Jewish People and the Torah! So this year is a special celebration! Enjoy! Be proud that you are a Jew! You are holy and special! You have true eternal riches! Share your joy and enthusiasm and inspire others!
3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:
1) When G-d gave the Torah He said to the Jewish people: “ You will be my treasure from all the nations”. The king’s hidden treasure is not about spending the money. It’s about the king enjoying knowing that he has a treasure hidden. So too are the Jewish people the precious treasure of our Father in Heaven, He enjoys and loves the very existence of every Jew. The fact that you exist makes G-d happy!
2) The Torah is given to us as human beings despite our shortcomings and temptations. Our inner struggle to become better, kinder and holier, is the reason why the Torah was not given to the angels. Every time you are victorious in your inner battle and you choose the way of Torah you highlight the beauty of the Jew living in a world of temptation. You are more precious than all the angels of heaven.
3) Education is the key of Jewish continuity.
We must ensure that every Jewish child receives a proper Torah education. The world stands in the merit of children. The Jewish people are the children of G-d. Every Jew is loved by G-d like a only child who was born to elderly parents. You are G-d‘s beloved child.
Maximize your potential, you are a royal prince.
