Comebacks Turbulence & Peace
The Biblical story of Noach and his Ark surviving the Flood is one of the most riveting stories in all of history. The entire world was submerged and destroyed by the turbulent waters of the Flood. The question is: G-d could have accomplished His goal in the blink of an eye. Why the lengthy process of a prolonged turbulent world wide flood?
The Alter Rebbe explains in Torah Or - Noach : In order for growth to happen there needs to be turbulence. Therefore the world was submerged in the turbulence of purifying waters. This achieved a cleansing and renewal of Mikve. Our souls come down from the tranquility of Heaven into the turbulent sea of human struggle and challenges in order to grow and reach even higher levels. Turbulance makes us grow.
Noach survived the turbulent Flood by building an Ark. The Hebrew word for Ark is Teivah which also means “words”. Noach understood that his survival and the education of his children depends on entering the holy and pure words of Prayer and Torah. This is the key to surviving the corrupt turbulence and flood of secularism.
This is a life inspiration: 1) If you experience a storm and turbulance in life, use it as an opportunity to grow. 2) The key to surviving a flood of challenges from a secular world, is to enter the beauty, comfort and safety of the spiritual Ark of Prayer and Torah. It’s refreshening and empowering. Connect and focus on a higher purpose of meaning and existence. Not only will you survive, you will thrive.
Your soul was sent down into our turbulent world because our loving Father in Heaven trusts you and knows that you have the talent, potential and power to save the world. To bring about a world of peace, love and healing. A world of Moshiach. Harmony, wisdom and celebration.
You have the ability to rescue the entire world by shining your light with the warmth of Torah and good deeds. We are all in this together. We can make the most successful comeback. We need you, our dear Hero!
3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:
1) In the book of Genesis we learn how each human being is created in the image of G-d. When we celebrate the beauty of each person’s Divine image, then we can easily achieve peace and reconciliation. Arrogance, stubbornness and narcissism are the enemies of truth and happiness. Humility, flexibility and selflessness are the recipe for guaranteed peace and happiness.
2) Children need a peaceful loving environment to grow and to thrive. It is the responsibility of parents and educators to give each child their personal peace and tranquility. Adults who interfere with the peaceful atmosphere of a child are guilty of cruelty, abuse and bloodshed. If you know a child in your community who is hurting, know that your kind words and your smile have lifesaving powers. You will forever be happy that you saved even one child.
3) Noach built an Ark for his family. He didn’t go out to inspire and save others. A righteous man in a “fur coat”. But if you heat up a fireplace, everybody is warm. The mission of our generation is for each of us to go out of our comfort zone and help save the young generation. Abraham was a trailblazer. You are Abraham’s grandchild. With your kindness, caring, hospitality and sponsorship you can be a leader like Abraham and successfully save lives. G-d considers you like the parent of the child you save. You will be happy you did!
