Discovery Self Esteem & Optimism
In modern day society, many people, especially students experience a sense of void and emptiness, frustration and depression. Life can lack clarity, purpose and direction.
In Torah Or -B’shalach- the Alter Rebbe explains that the Exedus story of splitting the sea, symbolizes transformation and discovery.
The sea symbolizes the hidden treasures of life. Dry land symbolizes the reality which we see with our eyes. The sea represents the infinite power of the secret name of G-d including the hidden treasures of a world of Moshiach.
The art of life is to discover the hidden treasures which are hidden in the sea of life. Every time you do a good deed you uncover a priceless treasure. As it says in Ethics of Our Fathers: One moment of good deeds and Teshuva in our physical world is more precious then all of the life in the world to come.
Happiness is not an external facade, happiness is the revelation of what you are feeling inside of you. When you fill your life with good deeds, Torah and Mitzvahs, you fill your life with joy and meaning.
You are the beloved child of our Father In Heaven. He celebrates and enjoys your mere existence. Focus on the pleasure, joy and pride of being a Jew. This gives you true self esteem, self confidence and optimism. You are hand picked and chosen by G-d Himself from all the nations. Celebrate and cherish the gift of you.
Maximize your life. You are a gift to the world.
3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:
1) A fellow came to the Rebbe and cried because he felt that he ruined his life with bad behaviors. The Rebbe answered in a melodious tune: The Ba’al Shemtov taught and publicized that G-d creates the world every moment anew. But why did G-d not choose to create the world in a way that it would exist without constant renewal?
The Rebbe answered : G-d wants the Ba’al
Teshuva who returns to G-d to have a new opportunity and a new beginning. Since the world is created anew every moment, therefore the world in which a person sinned in the past, no longer exists! The person who sinned is now a new person in a new world! Let go of the negative past. Happily celebrate your new opportunities.
2) Moshe - Moses is our trusted shepherd who nourishes the faith of every Jew. Judaism says that by connecting to the Moses of each generation, you are connecting to G-d. Everything we have, physically and spiritually, is channeled to us from G-d through the Moshe and Rebbe of our generation.
3) Freud believed that at your core level, your id is an instinctual vulgar beast. Chabad Chassidus teaches that at your core level you are a holy prince - princess, you are a G-d loving beautiful soul. You have G-d given infinite potential. Without you our collective mission of perfecting the world is incomplete. Your input and partnership are a unique part of the cosmic plan of Creation. Believe in your own goodness, beauty and holiness, because G-d believes in you!

הים מסמל את אוצרות החיים הנסתרים. אדמה יבשה מסמלת את המציאות שאנו רואים בעיניים. הים מייצג את שמו הסודי של ה' כולל האוצרות הנסתרים של עולם המשיח.
אומנות החיים היא לגלות את האוצרות הנסתרים אשר חבויים בים החיים. בכל פעם שאתה עושה מעשה טוב וחסד אתה מגלה אוצר יקר מפז. כפי שנאמר בפרקי אבות: רגע אחד של מעשים טובים בעולם הפיזי שלנו יקר יותר מכל החיים בעולם הבא.
שמחה הוא לא חזית חיצונית, שמחה הוא הגילוי של מה שאתה מרגיש עמוק בתוכך. כשאתה ממלא את חייך במעשים טובים, בתורה ומצוות, אתה ממלא את חייך בשמחה ובמשמעות.
אתה ילד אהוב של אבינו שבשמיים. הוא חוגג ונהנה מעצם הקיום שלך. התמקד בהנאה בשמחה ובגאווה שזכית להיות יהודי. אתה נבחרת על ידי הבורא בעצמו מכל העמים.

3 מסרים המבוססים על תורת הרבי:
1) אחד הגיע אל הרבי ובכה כי הרגיש שהרס את חייו בהתנהגויות רעות. ענה לו הרבי בניגון: הבעל שם טוב פרסם שהקב"ה בורא את העולם בכל רגע מחדש. אבל למה לא בחר הבורא לברוא את העולם באופן שיתקיים בלי התחדשות ובלי שהבורא תמיד יהיה מעורב?
ענה הרבי: ה' רוצה שברגע שהבעל
תשובה חוזר לה' יהיה לו הזדמנות חדשה והתחלה חדשה. מכיוון שהעולם נברא בכל רגע מחדש, לכן העולם שבו חטא אדם בעבר, אינו קיים עוד! האדם שחטא הוא עכשיו אדם חדש בעולם חדש! עזוב את העבר השלילי. תהיה שמח ותחגוג את ההזדמנויות החדשות שלך.
2) משה רבינו הוא הרועה הנאמן שמזין ומחזק את אמונתו של כל יהודי. רק על ידי חיבור והתקשרות למשה של כל דור, אתה מתחבר לאלוקים. כל מה שיש לנו, בא לנו מה' דרך משה והרבי של דורנו.
