Makeovers Vessles & Blessings
Delicious coffee requires a cup to hold the coffee. A radio requires an antenna to receive the signal. A car requires a gas tank to hold the fuel. Fruits require a field to grow. Computers require hardware to receive the downloaded documents. A baby requires a womb in which to grow.
Kabbalah and Chassidus explain that everything in existence requires a “vessel” in order to receive it and hold it. The blessings of G-d require a “vessel” to receive the blessings. Torah and Mitzvahs are the main vessels. If a person does not prepare a vessel for the blessings, it is like a barren women who has no womb to have a child.
We need to first know the cause of a problem in order to fix it. Our sages say “a full cup does not hold”. Because it is already full, it can not receive.
In Torah Or -Mishpotim- the Alter Rebbe explains that ego and dirt can fill up the vessel and disable the womb, thereby blocking the flow of blessings. A lack of self refinement and being absorbed in foolishness and materialism can dull our spiritual antenna. One can become indifferent, apathetic and coarse.
The good news is that the fix is readily available. Every Mitzvah is a new vessel. Our good deeds and Torah study, create new vessels.
By reflecting on the gift of life and on the blessings given to us by G-d, we develop gratitude and humility which wash and cleanse our soul and our vessels. Immersing our mind and heart in Chabad Chassidus is like immersing in a Mikve, a ritual bath of holiness and purity. A spiritual makeover with true inner beauty.
You have the ability to create new vessels in which Divine blessings can be received. You can transform a barren land into a fruit producing reality. Miraculously creating a new healthy “womb” for a new baby. New blessings, new beginnings and new celebrations.
The Torah tells us that the blessing of G-d will fill the number of your days and remove all illness. The Hebrew word for Number is Mispar, which etymologically also means Sapphire. G-d will make your life shine beautifully and sparkle like a sapphire with full days and happy blessings.
Maximize your opportunities. You are filled with Divine energy and unique abilities and talent.
G-d loves you unconditionally. You are His beloved child. Our loving Father In Heaven is happy to fill your cup and your vessels with blessings, happiness and revealed good.
Raise your cup!
3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:
1) Prayer is an expression of love. When a Jew is praying, one’s soul which is called the exiled inner princess, is liberated and embraces her Heavenly Father. Prayer is not just about asking G-d to fill our shopping list for life. To Pray is to emotionally connect. G-d responds to your love like a mirror: What you project is what you receive, therefore you can create your own destiny.
We are commanded to serve G-d. Our sages say that this refers to prayer which is the service of the heart. Your heart is the seat of your emotions. Give G-d your heart and He will fill your shopping list for a happy life.
2) A loan can be collected from the guarantor. King David calls the Jewish people “The close nation of G-d”, therefore since G-d is our guarantor He is obligated to redeem the Jewish people from our spiritual debt.
As a result of our mistakes we may become influenced by the negative spiritual forces. But our Father In Heaven is our Guarantor and He will take upon Himself the difficulties of Exile and free us with the coming of Moshiach Now.
3) The month of Shevat is followed by the happy month of Adar. A month of joy, miracles and happiness. Especially a leap year, because it has a double portion with two months of Adar. When facing diffulties, remember that happiness breaks down all barriers. Celebrate Jewish life happily and you will open new channels of blessings for you and your loved ones.
