Freedom Matzah & Healing
It is heartwarming to see families around the globe coming together, celebrating the Passover - Pesach Seders. Witnessing the golden chain of Jewish continuity, from generation to generation. It is beautiful, uplifting and inspiring.
In Lekutei Torah - Tzav- the Alter Rebbe explains the power of Matzoh. The Talmud teaches us that “a baby does not know how to call it’s Father until the baby tastes the taste of grain”. By eating grain, the baby develops an inner connection with it’s father.
Like a baby who feels connected to it’s father despite not understanding the reason, so too does the Matzah cause a Jew to connect to G-d. Every Jew is holy and beautiful and every Jew feels unconditionally and forever connected to our loving Father In Heaven. This is the power of eating Matzah.
Happiness is an integral part of Passover. Moadim L’simcha. Happiness is when one develops an appreciation for what they have. This is the feminine power of Binah. Understanding and appreciating. Like a mother who develops the fetus into a fully developed and healthy baby.
At the Seder we also eat the bitter herbs. Moror. The Alter Rebbe points out that the Hebrew numerical value of Moror is 446. The same number as the Hebrew word for death which is Mavet 446.
Because bitterness in life comes from living a dead life. Void of purpose and meaning. To be happy, we must remove the source of bitterness, the vanity and superficiality of the physical world. A meaningless existence.
When Moshiach comes there will be no more bitterness. No more death. Because the world will be filled with the beauty and happiness of true purpose and meaning.
These ideas give us motivation and
Inspiration!
Matzah gives us faith and on the second night of Passover, matzo gives us healing. Pesach empowers us to begenuinely happy and healthy, a life of purpose and meaning.
Never resign your future to past mistakes.
Never underestimate your potential. We can always begin a new path. A newsuccessful journey. This Passover set yourself free and you’ll feel how you and the Creator are united as one.
Leave the bitter tears behind. Your life is waiting for you to enjoy it and celebrate it as a Jew!
3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:
1) In the Haggadah we say that we and our forefathers were liberated. Because the liberation of Egypt was not just geographical, rather it was on the deepest levels of our Soul and our Psychological existence. The exodus of Egypt forever freed every Jew from being a slave to any form of slavery.
Nobody can subjugate you to any slavery which distracts or harms your eternal beauty of being the Ambassador of G-d. Recognize and celebrate your Jewish identity, you are a treasure filled with goodness. Share your inner beauty with the world.
2) Passover is the holiday of our freedom. Liberation is when you free yourself from all limitations and inhibitions. When you pursue your dreams and your full potential, courageously and resiliently. Freedom is when you continue to triumphantly march forward with your head held high, in the face of challenges.
Eventually you will realize that you successfully left Egypt and now you are living in the promised land, in freedom and happiness
3) We all have a child within ourselves. The Jewish people are called the children of G-d. Your inner child is thirsty for positive growth and success. On Passover we dedicate the Seders to the children. Youth is not measured by age but by spirit. It is our spirit which defines our quality of life.
Don’t experience life as an observer, be an active player and you will be on the winning side. We leave Egypt every day and every moment. Every step of growth and improvement is a Passover moment.
Passover means to jump over the rocks, obstacles and boulders of life. Discover the spark of Moshiach with in yourself. You were born for greatness. There is no better time than today and there’s nobody better for you than yourself.
