Relaunching Rethinking & Rejoicing 

Lag B’omer -corresponding this year to Thursday May 19- is a joyous Jewish holiday. We celebrate the life of Rabbi Shimon Ben Yochei, commonly known by the acronym Rashbi. The great Talmudic sage and author of the Kabbalistic holy book of Zohar.

In Lekutei Torah -Behar- the Alter Rebbe expounds on the teaching of the holy Zohar, that in order to have compassion - Rachmonus, a person must be a warm person. Compassion is the result of warmth. By contrast, a cold person lacks warmth, Rachmonus and compassion. 

The Zohar says that there are three who are interconnected. G-d, Torah and the Jewish people. These three are inseparable.  

On Lag B’omer we are inspired to love every Jew as our own brother and sister. To love requires warmth. Coldness is symbolic of lack of life. We warm our hearts, minds and souls with the flame of Torah. We embrace the unity of G-d, Torah and the Jew. 

The Alter Rebbe explains that Torah is the food and bread of the Jewish people. Bread requires baking. A person doesn’t digest nor receive proper nutrition from raw bread. So too when we need to digest, bake and internalize the lessons of Torah so it’s holiness and sweetness become part of our spiritual and  physical existence. 

This gives us motivation and inspiration:

The secret to having compassion, is to be a warm person. To feel and to love every Jew. When we are warm hearted Jews we have a warm connection with our Father In Heaven. Happiness is linked to warmth. Warm your heart, “bake” and internalize Torah and Chabad Chassidus. This will enrich your life with heartwarming and compassionate relationships and success. 

Often, anger, temper and anxiety are caused by a lack of empathy, disunity and a lack of compassion. You can melt the cold ice of disharmony and narcissism with the warmth of the shining light of the oneness and unity of G-d and of the unconditional love for every Jew. This will give you the gift and pleasure of enjoying a life of happiness, love and peace.  

Time for us to rethink, relaunch and rejoice.  Celebrate Lag B’omer and you will be blessed!

 

3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:

1) Rambam - Maimonides  concludes his 14 books which encompass all of Jewish law, by stating that when Moshiach comes “the world will be filled with knowledge of G-d like the waters cover the sea”. The first and opening law of Rambam, is to know the existence of G-d. Knowledge in Judaism means to connect and to feel. Abstract wisdom is insufficient and cold. 

The joy of a meaningful life is to feel the wisdom and beauty of life. The knowledge and your reality become one. This is achieved by living life guided by the shining warm light of Torah, including intellectual understanding of G-dliness, spirituality and the cosmic plan of Creation. For the ways of Torah are pleasant and sweet. 

2) The Torah refers to G-d as a “consuming flame”. Chabad Chassidus, including the final line of Tanya, explain that a flame requires something to be consumed. Like a wick etc. So too does a relationship with G-d require that we consume at least some of our ego and selfishness. 

Cold people lack compassion and they have difficulty being truly kind and empathetic. Their kindness is often self serving and manipulative. They may even be cruel, destructive and narcissistic. We must teach children to truly care about others and parents must be a shining example. Nourish and warm your heart and soul with true kindness and you will enjoy a happy life.  

3) The light of the Creator is infinite. You have a soul which is part of the Creator, therefore your light, talent and abilities are potentially infinite.

A leader is anyone who volunteers, initiates and ignites the flame and soul of others, with unconditional love. You were born to be a leader. You are one with the cosmic unity and the oneness of Hashem.

Life is enjoyed when everything is synchronized and in harmony with a Higher truth and reality. Merging as one, in peaceful unity with the Oneness of the One G-d of Israel. Share Chabad Chassidus with every one you meet. You can  bring joy, pleasure and tranquility to everyone in your sphere of influence. The world is waiting for your leadership.

ל"ג בעומר - המקביל השנה ליום חמישי ה-19 במאי - הוא חג יהודי שמח. אנו חוגגים את חייו של

רבי שמעון בן יוחאי, המוכר בראשי התיבות רשב"י. התנא האלוקי מחכמי התלמוד ומחבר ספר הזוהר הקדוש. 

בלקוטי תורה -בהר- מבאר אדמו״ר הזקן מיוסד על הזוהר הקדוש, שכדי לרחם,  צריך להיות אדם חם. רחמנות היא תוצאה של חמימות. לעומת זאת, אדם קר חסר חום, רחמנות וחמלה.

הזוהר אומר שיש שלושה שקשורים ביניהם. הקדוש ברוך הוא, התורה והעם היהודי. שלושת אלו אינם ניתנים להפרדה.

בל"ג בעומר אנו מקבלים השראה לאהוב כל יהודי כאח ואחות שלנו. לאהוב דורש חמימות. קור הוא סמל לחוסר חיים. אנו מחממים את לבנו, את מוחנו ונשמתנו בלהבת התורה. אנו מתקשרים עם אחדות ה', התורה והיהודי.

אדמו״ר הזקן מסביר שהתורה היא האוכל והלחם של העם היהודי. לחם דורש אפייה. אדם אינו מעכל ואינו מקבל תזונה נכונה מלחם נא שאינו אפוי. כך גם אנו צריכים לעכל, לאפות ולהפנים את לימוד התורה הקדושה והמתיקות של התורה ואז הם הופכים לחלק מהקיום הרוחני והפיזי שלנו.

זה נותן לנו מוטיבציה והשראה

הסוד לרחמנות הוא להיות אדם חם. להרגיש ולאהוב כל יהודי. כשאנחנו יהודים בעלי לב חם, יש לנו קשר חם עם אבינו שבשמים. אושר קשור לחום.  עלינו לחמם את הלב ולאפות ולהפנים התורה וחסידות חב"ד. זה יעשיר את חייך במערכות יחסים מחממות לב ברחמים ובהצלחה.

לעתים קרובות, כעס, מזג וחרדה נגרמים מחוסר אמפתיה, חוסר אחדות וחוסר חמלה. אתה יכול להמיס את הקרח הקר של דיסהרמוניה ונרקיסיזם עם חום האור הזוהר של האחדות של ה' ושל האהבה הבלתי מותנית לכל יהודי. זה יעניק לך את המתנה והעונג ליהנות מחיים של ת ת אושר, אהבה ושלווה.ץץ

3 מסרים המבוססים על תורת הרבי:

1) הרמב"ם מסיים את 14 ספריו המקיפים את כל ההלכה היהודית, שבבוא המשיח יתמלא העולם עם ידיעת אלוקים כמו המים שמכסים את הים. המצווה הראשונה של הרמב"ם, הוא לדעת את קיומו של ה'. דעת  ביהדות פירושו להתחבר ולהרגיש. חוכמה מופשטת אינה מספקת וקרה.

השמחה של חיים משמעותיים היא להרגיש את החוכמה והיופי של החיים. זה מושג על ידי שאנו חיים באור החם והזוהר של התורה, כי דרכיה דרכי נועם נעימות ומתוקות.

2) התורה מתייחסת לאלוקים כאל "להבה אוכלת". כמו שכתוב: כי ה׳ אלוקיך אש אוכלה הוא. בחסידות חב"ד, כולל השורה האחרונה של תניא, מוסבר ששלהבת צריכה לאכול משהו. כמו פתילה וכו'. כך גם מערכת היחסים שלנו  עם הבורא מחייבת שנשרוף לפחות חלק מהאגו והאנוכיות שלנו.

3) אור הבורא הוא אינסופי. יש לך נשמה שהיא חלק מהבורא, לכן האור, הכישרון והיכולות שלך הם בפוטנציאל אינסופיים.

מנהיג הוא כל מי שמתנדב, יוזם ומצית את הלהבה והנשמה של אחרים, באהבה ללא תנאי. נולדת להיות מנהיג. אתה אחד עם האחדות הקוסמית והאחדות של ה'.
