Steak BBQ & Smiles
A delicious BBQ steak can be enjoyed by kids and adults. A tasty grilled hamburger or steak at a BBQ with family and friends, can help create sweet memories. Mystically we are taught that the taste of every food is a reflection and a manifestation of it’s spiritual source.
In Lekutei Torah -Beha’aloschoh- the Alter Rebbe explains, that the reason why steak and meat are usually red is because the color red expresses and symbolises -גבורה- strength, excitement, drive and passion. When we eat, the food and nutrition become part of us. We can choose to either use the energy and nutrition for the positive or the negative.
By us choosing to first recite the correct blessing for the food and having the mindset to utilise the energy we derive from the food to do good things, positivity and holiness, we are thereby elevating the food and the animal to a higher level.
The soul of the animal is happy that you elevated it to accomplish the purpose for which it was created. Our proper mindset elevates the animal. Otherwise, the meat can spiritually lower and degrade the person. Including coarseness, insensitivity and lack of spiritual enthusiasm.
This gives us motivation and inspiration:
You are empowered to define your own existence. You have the choice to be a partner with the Creator and elevate the Kosher animal you eat and to help fulfill it’s mission. The world is in your hands. You are the artist and you have the opportunity to create a new beautiful portrait and a new world reality of goodness and holiness. Never in history was there a person exactly like you.
You can bring dignity, peace and civility into the world. You can be a walking ambassador of the Creator. It is up to you to choose to maximise your opportunities and infuse your life and the world around you with eternal purpose and meaning. Even your BBQ grilled red steak can be a beautiful vessel for holiness and spirituality.
Enjoy your BBQ. Make it Divine!
3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:
1) When the Jews travelled in the hot desert of Sinai, they wanted meat. Miraculously, G-d empowered Moshe to bring about an abundance of bird meat. Because Moshe is the leader and head of the Jewish people. All our physical and spiritual needs which G-d provides us with, are given to us by G-d thru Moshe.
Everything a person has comes thru the Moshe and Rebbe of the generation. Our goal is to merge and harmonise heaven and earth. To elevate and make our environment a holy extension of the Land of Israel. G-d is always with us, wherever we may be. All we have to do is open our heart and welcome Him in.
2) Humans are created with the head higher then the body. Animals are created with their head, heart and body on the same parallel line. Because the human being is created בצלם אלוקים, in the Divine image, where wisdom and Intelligence are first and highest.
The art of life is for us as humans to demonstrate our Divine humanity. To live a holy good life in a physical body. A taste of the times of Moshiach.
3) The heart can experience pleasure and pain. When we help another person and bring a smile to their face, we are doing a great Mitzvah. We are simultaneously bringing happiness to the person and to our loving Father in Heaven. True freedom is to voluntarily choose to always be a vessel and conduit of Divine goodness. To help others and to bring happiness to their heart and a smile to their face.
The more you help others and the more happiness and joy you will bring to others, the more you will be blessed in your personal life. Our loving Father in Heaven will bless you to enjoy all the things you need and want in your in your life. Smile and celebrate your opportunity to help others with love, a sincere heart and enthusiasm.
