Psychology Baseless-Hatred & Peace
Happiness is one of the most desired ingredients in life. Modern society is accustomed to the idea of spending months and even years in trying to fix emotional issues. Psychologists will often spend time trying to teach their clients techniques on how to deal with emotional stress. Yet often they are not successful in curing the root of the issue.
In Lekutei Torah -Matos- the Alter Rebbe analyzes the source and cure for hatred and feuds. How to transform enemies into friends and how to successfully achieve true peace, reconciliation and harmony.
Before Moshe passed away, G-d commanded him to lead the Jewish people to war and destroy the people of Midyan. Because Midyan represented hatred and disunity. They had an unwarranted deep hatred to the Jewish people. The people of Midyan hated the Jews, they couldn’t tolerate the mere existence of a Jew.
In the holy prayer of Shma Yisroel, a Jew declares that G-d is one. Although the word “Yochid” יחיד expresses more accurately the idea that G-d is the only true exclusive existence, nevertheless, here we say the word “Echod” אחד which means G-d is One. Because the three letters of the word Echod indicate that all of existence is united as One in the Oneness of G-d. There is total Unity. There is no fragmentation in existence. At our core, we are all truly united as one.
The Alter Rebbe explains, that our service of G-d is to acknowledge the true Unity and Oneness of G-d. Therefore, all hatred, disunity and arrogance, including the falsehood of self existence, is a violation of the Oneness and Unity of G-d. All hatred and disharmony come from the erroneous perception that we are independent of our Creator. This violates the holiness of the name of G-d. Hashem Echod.
When we introduce the higher truth and we acknowledge and internalize that our life and existence is only because of the benevolence of G-d, then there is no room for hatred, separation and fragmentation. Because in order to hate, one must deny the truth that everything comes from the Creator.
Conflict, adversaries and disharmony can only happen when each person sees themselves as an independent existence and therefore they see the other person as a threat. But when everybody recognizes that we are all here for the same purpose to make our Father in Heaven happy, then we stop seeing the other person as an adversary. We begin to see everybody as part of the same mission and as a member of the same symphony orchestra, each person playing unique musical notes put together producing in harmony the most beautiful music.
Peace is easily achieved when both opponents yield to a higher truth, when both sides internalize the truth and unity of existence. Both opponents rise to a higher level and see the truth. The light of the infinite Creator illuminates the eyes and path of all involved and everybody happily embraces the truth and love of our Father in Heaven.
This is why Moshe commanded the Jews to go to war against Midyan. Because we all must eradicate our ego and hatred. We must defend the universal Unity of the name of G-d and happily allow the truth of a higher existence to fill our lives. We recieve all our blessings from G-d thru Moshe. We receive our humility and ability to unite with the unity of G-d thru Moshe, the leader and Rebbe of every generation.
This is why it was Moshe who was commanded to lead the Jewish people into war and eradicate Midyan as they were the embodiment of baseless hatred. Moshe would restore the unity and holiness of the name of G-d and allow it's radiance and truth to shine brightly.
This requires the humility of Moshe, his absolute dedication to the unity of G-d and Moshe being the conduit and representative of the truth of existence. Only Moshe, the leader and Rebbe of the generation who could leed and win the battle against hatred, fragmentation and ego.
We can peacefully reconcile all adversaries by inspiring all people to rise and embrace the truth of a higher authority and a Supreme Being. We must encourage everyone to focus and dedicate our life to the true sweetness and beauty of a higher existence. We can help the entire world enjoy a meaningful life filled with happiness, tranquility and peace.
This gives us motivation and inspiration:
You are a gift. Your existence is unique. Never underestimate your value and never allow hatred and disunity to destroy the beauty of your life. Always focus on the unity and harmony of G-d and all of existence. By studying Torah on a regular basis, you will transform yourself and the world around you. You can bring peace and healing to all of humanity by sharing the unity and truth of the One Creator with all, regardless of race, color or creed.
You can reveal the rich beauty of the your inner spark of Moshiach. You can be the Lamplighter who will ignite the soul, flame and fire of all your friends and of all in your surrounding environment. You were born to be a leader, to enthusiastically share the flame of your soul and to light up the world with the light of peace, love and happiness.
Strike your match and bring more peace and healing to the world!
3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:
1) Every person is a holy Temple. We must help every child and adult to recognize their unlimited Divine beauty and potential. Never squash the talent and positive potential of any person. A true educator sees the positivity and potential within a child's energetic mischievous behavior. The benefits of channeling the energy in the right direction.
Education is not just sharing data. Education is the talent of helping each child blossom and maximize their G-d given potential. Education is a life long process, even for adults, because life means to always continue growing.
2) The world is a mixture of good and evil. The art is to find the good in everything. Some people choose to look for negativity. Smart and honest people focus on finding the good and the positive. The greater the darkness and challenge, the greater the goodness which is waiting to be discovered. Never give up on any person. Focus on finding the good within every human being and you discover a treasure of Divine goodness.
3) In life it is more precious to work on yourself and achieve tangible improvement then receiving everything for free on a golden platter. Our Father In Heaven enjoys and appreciates your hard work and efforts, even if sometimes you make a mistake. When somebody gives you a free gift, the credit belongs to the one who gave it to you. When you earn it by yourself, with hard work and effort, then the credit belongs to you.
If you have a challenge, treat it as an opportunity to transform darkness into light. Negative into positive. Sadness into happiness. Positive thinking and positive attitude are a key to lifelong success and happiness. Smile and discover your true talents, abilities and success.

לפני שמשה רבנו נפטר, ציווה עליו ה' להוביל את העם היהודי למלחמה ולהשמיד את בני מדיין. כי מדיין ייצג שנאה וחוסר אחדות. הייתה להם שנאה עמוקה לא מוצדקת לעם היהודי. אנשי מדיין שנאו את היהודים, הם לא יכלו לסבול את עצם קיומו של יהודי.
בתפילה הקדושה של שמע ישראל, כל יהודי מכריז שה' הוא אחד. למרות שהמילה "יחיד״ מבטאת בצורה מדויקת יותר את הרעיון שה' הוא הקיום הבלעדי והיחיד, בכל זאת, כאן אנו אומרים את המילה ״אחד״ שמשמעותה שה' הוא אחד. כי שלוש האותיות של המילה אחד מצביעות על כך שכל הקיום מאוחד כאחד באחדות ה'. יש אחדות מוחלטת. אין פיצול בקיום. בבסיסנו, כולנו באמת מאוחדים כאחד.
אדמו"ר הזקן מסביר, שעבודת ה' שלנו היא להכיר ביחודו ובאחדותו האמיתית של הבורא. לכן, כל שנאה, חוסר אחדות ויהירות, כולל השקר של הקיום העצמי, הם הפרה של האחדות האלוקי. כל שנאה ודיסהרמוניה נובעים מהתפיסה השגויה שאנו בלתי תלויים בבוראנו. זה פוגע בהאחדות ובקדושת שם ה'.

3) בחיים זה יותר יקר להקב״ה כשאתה עובד על עצמך לשיפור מוחשי ולא לקבל הכל בחינם על מגש זהב. אבינו שבשמיים נהנה ומעריך את העבודה הקשה והמאמצים שלך, גם אם לפעמים אתה עושה טעות. כאשר מישהו נותן לך מתנה בחינם, הקרדיט שייך למי שנתן לך המתנה. כאשר אתה מרוויח בעצמך, בעבודה קשה ומאמץ אז הקרדיט שייך לך.
