Relationships Happiness & Yom Kippur
You were born as a beautiful child. Your mother hugged you as your birth filled her heart with joy. As a baby, your mother tirelessly ensured that you were always clean. People enjoy the good feeling of being clean and naturally dislike dirt. We all spend time and resources in order to maintain a clean home, clean clothing and a clean environment.
How about a clean soul?
Yom Kippur is a gift. It is the one day a year when our loving Father in Heaven cleans us from all our stains, dirt and sins. Our relationship with Him is restored to it’s beautiful original state of cleanliness. We are spiritually new. The old dirt and stains are wiped away. We spiritually return, תשובה and we are lovingly reunite with our Father.
In Lekutei Torah -Yom Kippur- the Alter Rebbe explains the core point of Yom Kippur which is Teshuva - Return.
Imagine two sets of friends, each set of friends are standing right near each other. In one group, both are facing each other “face to face” but the other group is facing each other “back to back”. Despite the fact that both groups are standing very close each other, yet, In reality only one set of friends are truly close and connecting. They are enjoying a meaningful “face to face” relationship.
On Yom Kippur, all we need to do to fix our relationship is make one turn and face our loving Father in Heaven “face to face”. With a holy hug of love and a genuine embrace. We are reunited in perfect harmony with our Father who cleanses us and removes all the layers of dirt. We emerge spotlessly clean. Spiritually new. Beautiful, refreshed and rejuvenated souls.
Yom Kippur we celebrate our newly cleaned soul.
The Alter Rebbe further explains how each Mitzvah raises us to new heights. It is like when you bend a branch of a tall tree to be low near the ground and you attach something to it. When you release the branch, it springs back up and raises the object to new heights.
The same is true with every Mitzvah we do. A Mitzvah is the holy, high and lofty will of G-d as it comes down to our low and physical world. When we do the physical action of the Mitzvah, we are propelled and elevated. it raises us to new heights.
This gives us motivation and inspiration:
You can always clean and restore your soul to its original beauty and receive a hug of love from our loving Father in Heaven. Even is you made mistakes. You are never far away. Never despair and never give up hope. You only need to turn around and face G-d “face to face”. You are always close to Him. He loves you and is always with you and always inside of your heart.
You can always propel yourself higher and higher, to newfound heights of success. Keep on growing. Every Mitzvah you do helps you reach new heights. You can easily propel yourself to the greatest heights of success. One Mitzvah at a time. Your moment is now and your potential is infinite.
Celebrate Yom Kippur. Once a year you receive a free soul cleaning and a rejuvenation makeover.
3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:
1) On Yom Kippur you are automatically cleaned and renewed. The deepest level of your soul is always united with G-d in perfect love and unity. “Even a Jew who sinned is always a holy Jew”. Love and respect your fellow Jew unconditionally.
2) Your highest and deepest level of your soul never sins. At your core level you are always beautiful, clean and pure. Reveal your essence and enjoy your true inner strength, beauty and royalty.
3) Mother of Royalty. The Rebbe’s mother gave the world the greatest gift of our time: The Rebbe. Rebbetzin Chana passed away on Shabbos, the 6th day of Tishrei. Honor the Rebbe’s mother on the day of her passing with Torah study, good deeds and an additional Mitzvah.
Wishing you a Gmar Chasimo Tova
A happy sweet good year!
