Freedom Humilty & Smiles
Everybody likes a great opportunity. History has seen many people who had amazing opportunities, but squandered it because of their ego. Their arrogance got into the way.
The art of humility, has helped many successful people to listen to good advice and as a result they had huge success. It gives one the freedom to choose wisely.

In Lekutei Torah -Vayigash- the Alter Rebbe explains that ego causes a person to make wrong decisions. The ego blinds one’s judgment. Especially when a person has a great opportunity but there is someone whom they don’t like who will also benefit.
The ego driven person can foolishly miss the good opportunity because they don’t want the other person to succeed.

When G-d offered the famous sinner Yerovom Ben Nevot to return to G-d, חזור בך, he asked G-d: who will lead? מי בראש? When G-d answered that Ben Yishei will lead, Yerovom turned down the amazing offer which G-d personally offered him. Yerovom was so concerned about “who will lead” that it caused him to foolishly loose out on the offer.
Bittul means to live life while submitting to the objective truth of G-d. To appreciate that everything we have is a gift. A person who has “Bittul” and humility, enjoys the freedom and benefits of making smart decisions. This person smartly maximizes their G-d given opportunities.
This gives us motivation and inspiration:
“A cup which is full can not hold anything new”. When one empties themselves from ego and celebrates the truth of life, then one appreciates the gifts and opportunities which G-d gives us. “Bittul” means to let go of foolishly filling oneself with ego. By emptying our cup we make space for new blessings.
Only when one is filled with gratitude and submission to G-d for what they have, can they truly have healthy priorities. Such people enjoy life to it’s fullest.
In today’s modern world, many people are unhappy. The more they become self centered and filled with ego, the less happy they are.
Judaism gives us the gift of appreciating that everything we have is from above. Therefore we are happy for what we have and we enjoy the opportunity of having healthy priorities, which in turn helps us make healthy and good decisions.
Chabad Chassidus teachings, enriche our mind and our heart with a deep understanding and a unique appreciation of life. Everything we have comes from G-d. So we are always filled with gratitude. There is no reason to be foolishly arrogant.
Paradoxically, the more we submit to G-d with “Bittul”, the more happiness and joy we have. Bittul empowers us to function with the infinite power of G-d and therefore there is nothing which can stop us.
“Bittul” is a key to a life of blessings, success and happiness!
3 messages based on the teachings of the Rebbe:
1) Everything has a body and a soul. The body is the physical dimension, the soul is the message within it. We celebrate the victory of Hey Teves, the victory of the books being returned to their proper owner. We must also celebrate the message within the books, the message which the books represent.
When we maintain a healthy body with a healthy soul then we have true harmony, purpose and happiness.
2) A child needs a healthy education. Any scratch on a seed during the planting season can later develop and become a huge issue. Be a leader and help educate the young generation with purity, holiness and truth. This will translate into a happy and healthy young generation.
A smile gives a child love and warmth. Smile. Don’t walk around with a stern face. Flowers require sunshine and a child needs to see smiles.

3) Family life is the most important. Dedicate daily time to your family. A foundation of Jewish continuity is the family unit. Misplaced priorities can cause much unnecessary pain. A smart person can foresee the future. Invest today and you will enjoy a healthy happy life filled the most treasured priceless gifts and family.
Jews care for each other like a family with many brothers and sisters and therefore Jews are the largest family on earth.
